I have played the first Witcher for about 50 hours before I gave up on it. The combat was boring and repetitive, the quests were bland and not interesting in the slightest. One of the main reasons I loved the witcher stories was the interesting and complex story, but the game itself was just so boring I couldn’t play it anymore. I don’t know if this is an exception in the series or not, but if I had to make a choice between the two games, I would pick the first one, just don’t expect anything more than an average action rpg. I would it get it anyway just to support the franchise and hope they make a better game next time.
We’ll get to the actual story, but first we need to set up the atmosphere. in the first witcher, the story was really good and it was great to see how the game slowly built up to a point where the story really started to take hold of you and let you play the game never really knowing what will happen next.
The story in the first witcher was, in my opinion, a masterpiece, and it’s one of the few games where I actually cared about the ending. The way the story built up was just amazing and it was great to see how everything unfolded.
But in the new witcher, the story, while still good, was rather standard. I felt it was rather generic, and didn’t really have the same effect that the story in the first one had.
